Hello fellow dosa-lovers and dosa-newcomers! I'm thrilled to introduce you to the story of how the DosaMaker came to life.

As a child, I grew up surrounded by homemade dosas made fresh by my mother. My mom is an amazing Indian cook, who used dosas as a healthy crepe to wrap a variety of delicious fillings for our family. While working in India a few years ago, I was enjoying a delicious dosa and realized that everyone I knew back home loved dosas, but most people couldn't make them by hand. So after returning home to Pittsburgh, I decided to create a simple and easy way for anyone to make a perfect dosa.

I started working with my mom to understand the process of making a dosa by hand, to make sure I maintained the authenticity of this ancient food tradition. I built some basic prototypes in my garage to test our ideas, and then teamed up with a great group of engineers to design and build the first proof of concept model (it had wooden housings!). But we soon learned that creating a production-ready design would be an entirely new challenge. So we went to work, and after many prototypes we finally created an easy-to-use model that made great dosas.

We tested DosaMaker prototypes with consumers in the U.S. and India, and received a great response. During these demos, we introduced dosas to many new-comers, educating them on the versatility of these vegan and gluten-free, healthy crepes.

In the past year we traveled to China and partnered with a high-quality appliance manufacturer. We have built factory prototypes, but to finalize tooling and start production, we need to raise funds. After receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from consumers during demos, we decided that crowdfunding would be a great way to ask dosa-lovers and people who are looking for a fun and easy way to make healthy meals at home for their support.

We sincerely appreciate all of the amazing feedback we're receiving and can't wait for you to easily make dosas in your home using the DosaMaker. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your support!
